Following an earlier review of its Corporate Services, the Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust was keen to explore the possibilities for cost improvement with regard to a number of its Clinical services, as part of a wider programme to balance the Trust’s books.  Consequently, the Trust sought some independent benchmarking analysis that would help to inform the Trust as to how its services compared with those of other similar organisations from a financial perspective.


Established on 1 April 2000, the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust manage Hertford County Hospital (Hertford), Lister Hospital (Stevenage); Queen Elizabeth II Hospital(Welwyn Garden City) and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (London).


Ashford and St Peters Hospitals NHS Trust undertook a competitive tender process to select professional consultancy support to Project Manage the whole retendering exercise.

GK Transformation were engaged by a split-site acute trust to review their progress towards compliance with the comprehensive NHS Premises Assurance Model (PAM). This model brings together for the first time a wide range of services and disciplines across estates & facilities and examines them at both an operational and strategic level.


Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust (BSUH) is the teaching Trust in the South East Coast region and a large provider of specialised and acute hospital care services.


We were commissioned by the Trust Board through the auspices of the Director of Finance to assist the achievement of non-pay cost savings of £1,000,000 per annum.

GK Transformation were commissioned by the Trust to undertake an option appraisal of its Sterile Services function, in the context of the need to upgrade an existing facility at a time when the Trust was looking to redevelop its main site.

Gk Transformation were commissioned by London North West Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to assist with the performance management of their outsourced bed maintenance contract. The Trust had tried, in isolation; to make the contractor recognise the impact their lack of responsiveness and underperformance was having on the day-to-day operation of the Trust, with bed shortages becoming the norm.

At the request of the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (C&W), the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust (RMH) and the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust (RBH), we were asked to carry out a review....

We were commissioned as part of the redevelopment of the Lister Hospital site and the incorporation of services from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Welwyn Garden City (a £76million project).

The Wellington Hospital is owned and operated by HCA International and is the largest independent hospital in the UK. It has 266 registered beds, 15 intensive care unit beds, 19 high dependency unit beds and 11 operating theatres.

Childrens hospital

GK Transformation were commissioned by University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) to undertake a trust wide review of their portering service provision. The service, which had been the subject of many incremental changes over the years, needed to be aligned with the current and future needs of the Trust, reflecting the coming together of a number of specialist hospitals with the Bristol Royal Infirmary to create a unified organisation.


GK Transformation provided support to the Trust over a two year period, firstly developing and then implementing a major cost improvement programme.


We were commissioned by the Associate Director of Estates and Facilities Management at the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust (SHFT) to undertake a benchmarking exercise of the Trust’s Estates and Facilities Services.


West London Mental Health NHS Trust is a provider of a full range of mental health services for children, adults and older people living in the boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Hounslow.


We were commissioned to review of a number of the Trust’s Corporate Services, as part of a wider initiative to ensure that the Trust’s services were fit for purpose and provided value for money.


GK Transformation undertook a review to compare the University’s costs with those of other Universities as well as other organisations in the Public and Commercial sectors. 


GK Transformation were commissioned by the Shared Services directorate of DEFRA (Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs) to undertake a Benchmarking exercise covering the range of corporate/back office services provided by the SSD:
